Open City excursion in the press tour format
A press tour for Saint Petersburg journalists took place on April 18, 2017 within the frames of the Open City cultural and educational project implemented with the support of Tricolor TV, the major Russian operator of digital television.
The invited mass media representatives were able to visit the building of the former German Embassy at 11 Isaakievskaya Square, the Eliseevs’ Palace and the Dvortsovy Bridge. The first of the mentioned buildings now accommodates the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for Saint Petersburg and the tenement building once owned by Eliseev merchants accommodates Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO). Owing to the inclusion of the third location, the Dvortsovy Bridge, into the excursion program the journalists were able to get to the facility usually inaccessible and to see the bridge raising control panel with their own eyes.
It should be pointed out that the first excursion, the Tram of Memory for Saint Petersburg veterans and siege survivors timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of renewal of tram traffic in besieged Leningrad was held on April 15, 2017.
