Tricolor summarized the year 2018

The multiplatform operator of digital environment Tricolor summarized the year 2018, showing a growth of incomes and the number of users of its new services. The digital ecosystem developed by the operator enables the clients to get interesting content with any device at any time. This year, the company will continue the launch of digital services, the first of which will be “Smart Home”.

This year, the revenue of Tricolor increased by 12 % compared to the indicators in 2017, and ARPU increased by 7.2 %, up to 1,678 rubles. The number of clients was 12.226 million, including over 10 million HDTV subscribers and about 100 thousand UHD users.

Tricolor is planning to develop a UHD offer. The company provides the largest package of UHD channels in Russia — seven, and from February 1, the eighth UHD channel — Ultra HD Promo ­— will be available for free to all clients of the company.

In 2018, Tricolor launched the Tricolor Online TV application for viewing of online TV channels on hybrid receivers* and Smart TV (Android, Tizen). It also made the TV viewing truly mobile, having offered a version of the application for smartphones and tablets (Android, iOS). Thus, all the operator’s clients can watch online content for free and use the services of broadcasting management both at home and outside. Currently, the operator offers 144 TV channels as a part of the service, including 29 in HD format. It is planned to supplement the offer with niche TV channels that are not represented on the satellite platform. Thus, since January 31, 2019, only the subscribers of the Tricolor online service will have access to Tlum HD TV channel.

Andrey Nesterov, Chief Marketing Officer of Tricolor commented: “We want each client of Tricolor to be able to use the entire range of modern digital services within one platform. We are constantly improving the content offer, including the range of our own movie channels, developing a package of channels in Ultra HD, adding services that make the consumer’s life as comfortable as possible.” 

In February, the operator will offer its clients a new digital service “Tricolor Smart Home”, which will enable the clients to learn instantly about water leaks, gas leaks, smoke, door opening, identify and inform about any motion in the premises. In case of emergency, a siren will sound, and a warning will appear on TV screen and a notification will be sent to the smartphone**. Clients can also manage the lighting using a “smart lamp”, manage the power supply to electrical devices using a “smart socket”, receive detailed statistics on energy consumption, and monitor temperature and humidity indicators.

“Tricolor Smart Home” service is the main control module connected to the receiver for viewing of Tricolor, as well as 11 sensors and devices. The client forms the set himself, based on his needs. The product was developed by the technological partner of the operator — GS Group.

The service can be used both at home and outside. Clients can control the devices and sensors with the Smart Home application on the receiver for viewing of Tricolor using the remote control or using the Tricolor Smart Home mobile application on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets.

Tricolor is planning to expand the range of “smart home devices” and add one of the most expected services of the company — cloud video surveillance.
