Exactly a year ago, on 22 April 2014, the largest Russian digital TV operator «Tricolor TV» began full-scale broadcasting on the territory of Siberia, the Ural and a part of the Far East. Within the year, the number of subscribers for high-definition television in the region has increased by 70 per cent.
From the moment of putting of KA «Express-AT1» into commercial operation on 22 April 2014, the number of subscribers of the operator’s high-definition television in the region has increased by 150 000 households, which has exceeded the figures of the previous period by 70%.
The main reason of increase of the growth rate of the subscribers’ base was considerable expansion of the content offer. From the moment of «Express-AT1» launching, thanks to increase of transponder capacity, the number of channels broadcasted by the operator in the region has increased practically 4 times.
At the moment, 30 HD TV channels are available for residents of Siberia within the main service of the operator — the «Edinyi» package. The total number of channels broadcasted by «Tricolor TV» on the territory of the region is 194, including 30 radio stations.
Development of «Tricolor TV» in Siberia is an important and one of the most expected projects of the operator. During several years we were preparing for beginning of the full-scale broadcasting in the region, which became possible thanks to launching of the new Russian satellite «Express-AT1». We are glad that the project is developing successfully, and now the subscribers who watched 30 TV channels have got the possibility of access to the full-fledged service of «Tricolor TV» — almost 200 most varied TV and radio channels.
Let us remind you that prior to the launching of KA «Express-AT1» and start of the updated project of «Tricolor TV-Siberia», broadcasting for the Siberian subscribers was carried out from KA Bonum-1 and DirecTV-1R. The total number of available TV channel was about 30.
