Russian content as a priority: Tricolor named the movies and TV series most often watched in southern Russia
Tricolor analysts conducted a study of the preferences of viewers living in southern Russia. They found that Russian content is in particular demand among the operator’s customers from the Southern Federal District.
Tricolor analyzed viewing preferences in the Southern Federal District in the first half of 2022 and found that 44 % of viewers in the region prefer to watch movies and series on TV. Content produced by domestic film studios is especially popular. The leaders among the TV series were adventure melodrama “Janissary” and NTV crime detectives “North Star” and “Nevsky”.
As for feature-length films, residents of the southern regions of Russia also gave preference to domestic products. The top-3 films included the family fantasy comedy “The Last Bogatyr: Root of Evil”, Soviet comedy “Gentlemen of Fortune” and the war drama “Axe”.
Infotainment programs were popular with 31 % of viewers of the SFD, while 16 % preferred to watch news and socio-political programs.
“In recent years, Tricolor has been actively launching channels of its own production, on which viewers can see beloved national classics, long-playing series of different genres and modern hits. The data obtained by our analytical service shows that we have chosen the right vector of development. Moreover, from August 19 we will start broadcasting another channel of our own production – “Kriminalnoye”, which will contain documentary projects about the investigation of intricate crimes,” says Arsen Khomutov, Tricolor Content Director.
