Russians Have Shown Their Cities from a Bird’s Eye View

The results of the first month of «Rossia glazami dronov» all-Russia competition which started on December 1, 2016 have been summarized. The names of the four finalists whose works became the best by the results of the weekly viewers’ voting on dron.tricolor.tv have been announced.

Within the frames of the competition Russia’s residents were asked to show the most picturesque places of their cities photographed by means of drones and quadcopters. About 100 works have already been submitted for judgment by public jury. These works are from different corners of our country starting from Kaliningrad and as far as the Far East; there are even videos from participants from the Chechen Republic and Ossetia. The highest activity on the part of the participants fell on the New Year holidays; Russian citizens uploaded decorated snow-covered cities.

The works will be accepted until February 1, 2017. Anybody willing can become a participant of the competition. To do that one needs to create a video with sights or any beautiful places of one’s city with the help of a drone and upload it on dron.tricolor.tv using LIFECORR application. Every week the best video goes on air in the news program on Life federal channel and Tricolor TV Infochannel.

There is voting on the website of the competition where viewers take an active part. As of today the maximum number of likes is over 4 thousand. Viewers can enjoy the charming landscapes of Kola Peninsula (video by Ivan Prytkov), beautiful views of night Izhevsk (work by Albert Minigareev), Kazan illuminated with evening lights (Marat Khusnutdinov), see the sunset and delight in the raised bridges in Saint Petersburg owing to the work by Aleksandr Likhachev, fly over to the Far East or admire the views of the Kremlin and the nature of Novgorod region to the accompaniment of gusli (videowork by Arkady Korolev). These and other works of the competition participants allow seeing all the beauty and diversity of Russia.

The names of four finalists have already been announced; they have become the winners of four weeks and their works have been shown on air in the news program of Life channel and Tricolor TV Infochannel: Igor Kolesnikov (20 years old, Krasnodar Krai), Semen Levin (27 years old, Kaluga region), Stanislav Navoev (43 years old, Khabarovsk Krai) and Pavel Bukharin (28 years old, the Republic of Udmurtia).

The names of the winners and other information about the competition and events in the drone industry are published in the news on the website of the competition and in social networks. Videoworks are accepted from December 1, 2016 till February 1, 2017. The final stage of the competition will take place from 1 February till 1 March 2017 and on 15 March the official ceremony of awarding the three winners to be determined by viewers’ voting on   dron.tricolor.tv will be held at SMIT 2017, the major event of high technologies in Russia.

The project was organized by Tricolor TV, the major Russian operator of digital television, GLONASS NPP and Life television channel. The purpose of the competition is popularization of modern videorecording technologies using drones and quadcopters in Russia.

Application of drones to create interesting and high quality videocontent is a new and promising area for television industry. Since the early 2016 there has been active in Russia to create national rules of applying remotely piloted air systems (RPAS).
