Satellite Internet of «Tricolor TV»
On 7 September 2016 the biggest Russian operator of digital television «Tricolor TV» jointly with the operator of satellite Internet Eutelsat Networks put the two-way satellite Internet access service into commercial operation.
«Satellite Internet of «Tricolor TV» is a service allowing to gain two-way Internet access at a speed of up to 40 Mb/s for the direct communication channel and up to 12 Mb/s for the reverse communication channel in the coverage zone of Express-AMU1 (Eutelsat 36C) satellite.
This February a new satellite — Express AMU1 (Eutelsat 36C) equipped with the capacity for provision of broadband access services was put into operation. We wanted to enter the Russian market of satellite Internet and we are glad to extend cooperation with our long-standing partner «Tricolor TV» with whom we have been working for over 10 years already in the sphere of satellite television. In August HUB station was already put into operation in Dubna, and also joint testing of all client interaction systems was carried out. Flexible tariff plan has been developed for the users of «Satellite Internet of «Tricolor TV» service, where the price is formed based on the volume of provided traffic. The monthly cost of the minimum tariff with the volume of prepaid traffic of 1 Gb is 275 Roubles. Further the cost of tariffs increases proportionally to volumes of traffic. Such approach will provide a subscriber with the possibility to choose the tariff based on his/her needs.
Connection speed is equal at all tariffs. Internet access will be provided at the minimum speed even in absence of funds on the subscriber’s account. This is provided for convenience of the user of the new service — in the event that the account was not replenished beforehand, the subscriber retains the possibility to make online payment for the service. The advantage of this service is also availability of night unlimited Internet access without speed limitations at all tariffs.
To gain access to the service, it is necessary to use the special set of equipment Gemini-i, which can be purchased from authorized dealers of «Tricolor TV», including company salons-stores and official sales and service offices. We have given training to the dealers, including jointly with our partners, we told about advantages of the two-way satellite Internet.
